A cold, but happy, Birthday...

Yesterday, January 17th, was my 28th birthday, and it went a lot better than I had expected it to... with one exception.

I woke up in the morning, around my typical 7:30am time, and discovered roses and presents in the kitchen. This was a wonderful gift from Joe and helped to set my whole day on a good note. What was especially nice was the fact that Joe had taken the time to wrap the presents... a simple gesture that means a whole lot to me.

But here comes the day's big problem... On my way to work, my truck appeared to be loosing power. This has actually started the day before... but I didn't know what was happening. I made it to work, and I finally got a hold of someone at my car dealership (truck's still under warranty). They finally figured out that it was the alternator going bad. So, I left work early (about 4:30) so that I could drive while it was still light out so that I wouldn't have to use my headlights. Of course... I made it about two miles when my truck completely died. I was able to pull over to the side of the road and I called Isuzu's Roadside Service. They told me that I a tow truck was on the way, and would be there in about an hour... ugg! It was about 16 degrees that evening so and hour seemed like a long time. I waited... and waited... I called Joe to chat... I called Sandy to chat... and finally the tow truck arrived. After about 20 minutes of getting my truck hoisted up on the flat bed, we finally drove over to the dealership.

Luckily, we managed to wrap it all up in time for me to get home and pick up Joe (in my rental car) so that we could make it to our 7pm reservations at Santorini. A nice Greek/Mediterranean restaurant.

All-in-all it was a nice day... and even better now that the dealership has just called and told me that my truck is fixed. Yippy.
